80903-I would like to start off by saying that this post is not meant to upset or offend anyone. It is , however, for the purpose of contributing insight and aid toward maximum health and wellness.

The art and science of chiropractic has been around since 1895 and has steadily grown in popularity to the point of being one of the largest healthcare systems in the world.

So, why doesn't chiropractic get results? Because oftentimes patients compare chiropractic to the practice of medicine. In my humble opinion, medicine does a great job of treating medical issues and helping people feel better right away. Pain medications, especially opioids, take the pain away instantly. But there are consequences. Firstly, side effects (unwanted effects) generally accompany the use of medications which in turn cause other health problems. Then you take other meds to deal with those health problems and so on.

Nevertheless, we decide to give chiropractic a shot. Often, we go to the chiropractor and say, "I'll get one treatment(adjustment) and I'll let you know how it goes." Or the chiropractic doctor recommends a treatment plan in order to produce the best outcome for us. But after 1 or 2 visits, we notice that the pain is not gone, so we quit.

My question is, "why did you go to this chiropractor in the first place if you're not going to follow his/her advice? Especially with long standing cases, the problem doesn't go away instantly. It takes time for the Chiropractor to decipher your particular issue and maybe even course correct the treatment type if the current course of treatment is not getting the expected results.

Some cases are simple to solve and some cases are very complex. Remember, your MD did not solve the problem and certainly you gave him/her an adequate amount of time to figure things out.

If you want chiropractic to work, give it a least 6 visits to see if some progress can be made. Follow your chiropractor's recommendations and keep open to the fact chiropractic care may not be a fast solution. But with some patience, chiropractic is regularly the solution that works.
