Why I recommend Transcendental Meditation to my Patients (and it's not what you think)

Transcendental Meditation (TM) has been taught by the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi beginning in the 1950's; however it is a Vedic practice that has been passed down orally for thousands of years. TM is not a religion so it does not conflict with any religious or spiritual practice.


I recommend specifically for the relaxation and health benefits. Hundreds of scientific studies point to TM reducing stress and having health benefits beyond deep sleep and exercise. Many chronic ailments such a diabetes and heart disease are greatly helped by TM, studies have shown.
